How to Import Calcium Silicate Insulation from China?
Importing calcium silicate insulation from Mingfa follows a straightforward process. We have exported over 360,000 m³ to 70+ countries and handle all export documentation. Here is what to expect at each stage.
Step 1: Send Your Inquiry
Contact our sales team by email (lzmfgr@163.com) or through our contact form. Provide your product specifications: type, temperature grade, dimensions (length x width x thickness), density class, quantity, and destination port. The more detail you provide, the more accurate your quotation will be.
Step 2: Receive Quotation
We respond within one business day with a formal quotation including: unit price, total order value, incoterms (FOB Qingdao, CIF to your port, or EXW), estimated lead time, and container loading plan. Quotations are typically valid for 30 days.
Step 3: Confirm Order and Proforma Invoice
Once you accept the quotation, we issue a proforma invoice (PI) detailing the complete order specifications, pricing, payment terms, delivery schedule, and shipping arrangements. Review and confirm the PI. Standard payment terms are 30% deposit on order confirmation, 70% balance before shipment. Letters of credit (L/C) are accepted for established customers.
Step 4: Production
Production begins upon receipt of the deposit. Standard lead time is 15-30 days depending on order volume and product specifications. During production, we can provide progress updates and photos upon request. For large or critical orders, pre-shipment inspection can be arranged.
Step 5: Inspection
Before packing, every batch undergoes our standard quality testing (density, compressive strength, thermal conductivity, dimensional accuracy). Batch certificates of analysis are prepared. If you require third-party inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, TUV, or your nominated inspector), this can be arranged at your cost.
Step 6: Shipping and Documentation
Goods are packed on fumigated wooden pallets with waterproof PE film and loaded into containers at our factory. Containers are trucked to Qingdao port (approximately 2-3 hours from factory). We provide a complete documentation package:
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list with pallet details
- Bill of lading (for sea freight) or airway bill (for air freight)
- Certificate of origin (Form E, Form F, or general COO as required)
- Batch certificates of analysis (density, compressive strength, thermal conductivity, shrinkage)
- Asbestos-free declaration
- Fumigation certificate for wooden packaging (ISPM 15 compliant)
Step 7: Payment and Release
For T/T terms, the balance payment is made before shipment release. Once payment is confirmed, shipping documents are released to you for customs clearance at the destination port. For a more detailed guide, see our blog post on importing insulation from China.
