What Is the Price of Calcium Silicate Insulation Board?
There is no single price for calcium silicate insulation board. Pricing depends on the specific product configuration, order quantity, and delivery terms. This page explains the factors that determine price so you can request an accurate quotation.
Factors That Determine Price
- Density grade (170-900 kg/m³): Higher density boards use more raw material per cubic meter and require higher pressing pressure, increasing unit cost. A 600 kg/m³ fire door core costs more per cubic meter than a 230 kg/m³ insulation board.
- Board thickness (20-120mm): Thicker boards use proportionally more material. However, the price per mm of thickness is not linear because the pressing and curing costs are similar per board regardless of thickness.
- Order quantity: Larger orders reduce the per-unit cost through production efficiency and container optimization. A full 20GP or 40HQ container load has a lower unit freight cost than a partial load.
- Temperature grade: High-temperature (1000-1100°C) grades require higher autoclave pressure, longer curing times, and sometimes additional mineral additives, increasing cost compared to standard 650°C grade.
- Customization: CNC-machined shapes, non-standard dimensions, private labeling, and special packaging add cost. Simple standard-size boards at standard thicknesses are the most economical.
- Delivery terms: FOB Qingdao is the base export price. CIF to your destination port includes freight and insurance. EXW (ex-works) is available if you use your own freight forwarder.
Cost Comparison: Mingfa vs European Brands
As a Shandong-based manufacturer shipping direct from factory, Mingfa typically offers a 30-50% cost advantage compared to equivalent ASTM C533/EN 14306-compliant products from European manufacturers such as Promat or Skamol. This advantage comes from lower raw material and energy costs in China, integrated production (no third-party trading markup), and efficient container shipping from nearby Qingdao port. The quality is equivalent -- our products meet the same international standards and are used in industrial projects worldwide.
